FORTHCOMING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Wednesday June 5th is World Environment Day. There will be a small display to mark the day during that week, and an exciting talk from local naturalist, Nick Roberts, on Tuesday, June 18th, 7.30pm. Nick’s talk is called: ‘Extinction? Re-introduction? The future of our wildlife’. The evening is a free event. Donations are welcome and refreshments will be available. Please register your interest beforehand with the library.

Sunday, June 23rd, is Open Gardens in Long Buckby. We will be serving teas and other refreshments at the library. All welcome.

Our film in June: on Tuesday, June 25th, we are showing Wonka! “Armed with nothing but a hatful of dreams, young chocolatier Willy Wonka manages to change the world, one delectable bite at a time. When his dream business gets destroyed, he's down in the dumps for a bit. But gradually, he gets back to work, and is soon able to continue doing the thing he loves most.” Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Tickets £7 from the Library and the Peephole in the High Street. Refreshments, including ice cream, will be available.

Our July art exhibition: there will be paintings from local artists, Michelle Kilby and Mary Fowler, in our refreshment area. Have a morning coffee while you view.
