Friends of St Michael’s History Group

January’s meeting started a run of talks specifically about the village’s own history. Richard Hollingum gave a brief history of St Michael & All Angels as it celebrates it’s 800th birthday.

• February’s (19th) speaker, Rev Geoff Townsend, will tell of the United Reform Church’s history in Creaton.
• In March (19th) Patsy Hollingum will be sharing her research in a talk entitled ‘Discovering the Orlands’. The Orlands were a family of millers and farmersin and around Creaton throughout the 19th century. Many of them are buried in the churchyard.
